DESCRIPTION

At this Pub Talk, Mr. von Riegen will discuss the UDDI (Universal Description, Discovery and Integration) initiative and SAP's involvement. As announced on October 4th, SAP plans to become an operator for the UDDI Business Directory. SAP will build, run, and maintain a global UDDI node. Existing operators include IBM, Microsoft, and Hewlett-Packard. Both SAP and IBM are current Executive Sponsors of the Center. This type of collaborative initiative is what the spirit of the Internet Economy is all about!

Come learn more about the UDDI Initiative, billed as the first true Yellow Pages for the Web, which seeks to make it easier for businesses to provide information about their products and services on the Web as well as locate partners and customers. In addition to learning more about SAP's role as an operator, come hear how SAP will let its customers register for the UDDI registry through its SAP Service Marketplace, integrating information from back-office systems into the registry.
