Glen Allmendinger will discuss modes of competition in a completely
wired/wireless infrastructure. He will focus will on how traditional
technology suppliers must aggressively manage their sphere of influence,
seen via both the delineated and subjective relationships that exist
between customers, competitors, and other partners.
ABOUT HARBOR RESEARCH
Harbor Research is a 17-year old strategy advisory firm based in
Boston and San Francisco and has worked with companies including
AT&T, EMC, Honeywell, Hughes, IBM, Intel, Invensys, Rockwell and
others. The firm provides technology suppliers with a strategic
and analytical understanding of market forces through competitive
intelligence, customer behavior trending, technology evaluation,
and project facilitation and management. Currently, the company
has developed an online service that is supporting technologists
to develop their webs of alliances as it relates to pervasive computing
and the wireless Internet.
ABOUT GLEN ALLENDINGER
Glen Allmendinger is the founder and president of Harbor Research.
Mr. Allmendinger has been responsible for managing Harbor and all
of its consulting and research activities since its inception in
1983. Mr. Allmendinger has worked closely with a broad spectrum
of telecommunications, information systems, and electronics companies
in North America, Europe, and the Far East. These companies range
in scope from small, entrepreneurial start-ups to major multi-national
corporations. His project direction and consulting has assisted
these firms in the development of corporate and business unit strategies,
new product, market and service opportunities, and new core capabilities.
In addition, Mr. Allmendinger has developed and managed Harbor Research's
financial advisory practice, including conducting due diligence
and business valuations, generating buyer and acquisition lists,
and negotiating transactions. Prior to establishing Harbor Research,
Mr. Allmendinger managed the Manufacturing Research Group for the
Yankee Group in Boston.
