Today, more data is available from internal and external sources than ever before, but it needs to be discovered, extracted, and turned into information before it can be used for decision support. At this Symposium, a real-world business scenario within Strategic Sourcing will be presented by SAP to investigate how intelligent software agents can help with data gathering as well as in turning data into valuable information. Also, the fifteen invited participants will discuss how agents can be used to discover new information sources and new business partners, potentially using the Semantic Web. Participants will have the opportunity to network after the Symposium over wine and light food.
